Alfred Yip

Alfred Yip is a Director at IPOS International, with nearly two decades of experience in the patent industry across both public and private sectors. He oversees Singapore’s patent search and examination capabilities and leads efforts to strengthen the IPOS Group’s patent analytics function. He also works closely with the National Research Foundation of Singapore to drive the strategic use of patent data within government agencies.

Alfred previously served as Vice-Chair of the United Nations Committee on the Law of Patents and as Chair of the ASEAN Patent Examination Cooperation Taskforce. Prior to joining IPOS, he was a Principal Consultant at a Japanese multinational, advising on standard essential patents in the telecommunications sector.

Alfred has held various leadership roles, including on the Executive Committee of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) Singapore, and as Co-Chair of the LES International High Technology Committee. He holds a First-Class Honours degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, a Specialist Certificate in Intangible Asset Management, and completed the Leading Business Transformation in Asia programme at INSEAD.
