Andrea Lobos is an Attorney at Law with a Master’s degree in Business Law and over 17 years of experience in Intellectual Property. As the Founding Partner of Andes IP, a Chilean IP firm, she leads the Patents, Litigation, and Technology Transfer team, advising clients on building robust patent portfolios, conducting IP assessments, managing litigation, and guiding due diligence processes.
She has successfully negotiated national and international license agreements for spin-offs, startups, universities, and technology transfer hubs. Deeply committed to education and mentorship, Andrea teaches IP courses for undergraduates, Ph.D. science students, and professionals through programs such as the WIPO-INAPI Summer School.
Her leadership in the IP field is underscored by her tenure as Past President of LES Chile and her current roles as a Board Member of ACHPI and Ambassador for Woman Board Up, where she actively promotes gender equity in corporate governance.
Andrea has advised a wide range of clients—including universities, R&D centers, pharmaceutical companies, and venture capital firms—and has played a key role in developing institutional IP policies and regulations across both the public and private sectors.
Driven by a strong commitment to social impact, she engages in pro bono work with indigenous communities and small farmers, supporting the registration of Geographical Indications, Certification Marks, and Denominations of Origin. She frequently speaks at national and international forums to promote the use of IP as a catalyst for innovation and inclusive development.
