Andrew Y. Yen is the Chief IP Counsel at Panasonic’s R&D division where he is responsible for bilateral licensing, patent pools, global litigations and policy matters relating to standardization, standard essential patents and FRAND.  Prior to joining Panasonic in 2017, he practiced law at leading international law firms and represented companies from Asia on patent disputes in the United States courts and the ITC.  He is a member of the State Bar of California and is a registered foreign attorney in Japan.  He has a multicultural upbringing and speaks English, Mandarin and Japanese.  He is based in Osaka Japan.
