Dr. Anke Nestler has more than 20 years of experience in the valuation of companies with a special focus on the valuation of intangibles, such as trademarks, know-how, patents and software. Anke has a strong focus on litigation work regarding the quantification of damages at German courts and at international arbitration tribunals.

Anke advises national and international clients from various industries concerning valuation issues such as IDW S 1 expert opinions required in German corporate law transactions for the compensation of minority shares (in squeeze-outs or mergers) or in shareholder disputes. Anke has a proven expertise in the valuation of IP and appropriate licensing of intangibles in contentious and non-contentious contexts as well as in tax litigations. She is often involved in complex valuations of patent portfolios and has specific expertise in Fair, Reasonable and Non-discriminatory (“FRAND”) licensing.

As a publicly appointed and sworn expert, Anke regularly prepares expert opinions for clients and for courts and arbitration. She is also a Certified Licensing Professional (“CLP”) and a Certified Valuation Analyst (“CVA”). After graduating with an M.B.A. from the University of Passau, she received her Ph.D. in Business Studies from the Technical University of Berlin.

Anke joined FTI Consulting after 15 years as Managing Partner of VALNES Corporate Finance, a specialized valuation boutique. Previously, she worked in the corporate finance department of a Big Four audit firm and in the corporate finance segment of a “Magic Circle” law firm in Frankfurt.

Anke is regularly recommended by Who’s Who Legal in Germany as Consulting Expert for Quantum of Damages, Arbitration Expert Witness and Corporate Tax Expert Witness. She is a member of the Board of the Licensing Executive Society in Germany, Chair of the IP Valuation Working Group and member of the international IP Valuation Committee at LES International. Besides her experience as a valuation expert, Anke is a Deputy Chairwomen of the Supervisory Board of Medios AG and Deputy Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of GK Software SE. She regularly publishes professional articles on valuation issues and is a recognised speaker at professional events as well as a lecturer at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.
