Dave Lee is a visionary technologist and entrepreneur with over four decades of experience driving innovation across semiconductor, avionics, cryptography, wireless communications, cybersecurity, and smart energy sectors, alongside collaborations with government research laboratories.

In his early career, Dave played a pivotal role in pioneering advancements, including the development of GPS technology, contributions to GSM/GPRS standardization, and groundbreaking research in cryptography and broadband optical/wireless networks. His leadership in these areas led to the filing of numerous patents, cementing his impact on telecommunications infrastructure.

Transitioning to entrepreneurship, Dave founded two successful ventures: a short-range wireless technology company and a cybersecurity firm. Over the past 11 years, he has spearheaded the integration of cellular systems, digital signal processing (DSP), data analytics, and machine learning into the smart energy industry, addressing critical challenges in grid modernization. Concurrently, he navigated complex Standard Essential Patent (SEP) landscapes for six years, ensuring strategic intellectual property compliance and fostering cross-industry collaboration.

Academically, Dave holds a first-class Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s in Communication Engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He further honed his leadership expertise through the prestigious MIT Sloan Nanyang Fellows Programme at Nanyang Technological University and expanded his technical acumen with artificial intelligence coursework at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and MIT Sloan.

Currently, Dave is pursuing a doctorate in innovation economics at Singapore Management University (SMU), where he investigates the interplay between emerging technologies, economic systems, and policy frameworks to shape sustainable global innovation strategies.
