Gerald Koh is a seasoned Singapore patent attorney and partner at Viering Jentschura & Partner LLP, where he leads the firm’s biotech and life sciences practice. With over 25 years of experience in intellectual property law, Gerald has built a distinguished career handling a wide range of IP matters, including registration, litigation, and transactional work. Before joining Viering Jentschura in 2016, he practiced at one of Singapore’s leading law firms, honing his expertise in managing complex IP issues for clients across diverse industries.

Gerald holds an LL.B. University of Buckingham, obtained in 1994, and a Specialist Diploma in Molecular Biotechnology from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, which he earned in 2005 to deepen his technical knowledge in the life sciences field. He is admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor in both Singapore (1997) and England & Wales (1996) and has been a Registered Singapore Patent Attorney since 2002.

Recognized as an IP Star by Managing Intellectual Property for ten consecutive years (2014–2024), Gerald’s contributions to the IP field have been widely acknowledged. He has also served the profession in numerous leadership roles, including his current position as Vice President of the AIPPI Singapore Chapter and his previous 15-year tenure as a member of the Patent Agent Qualifying Examination Committee.

Beyond his professional practice, Gerald is deeply committed to the growth of the intellectual property community. He regularly conducts IP training, speaks at seminars, and shares his insights with aspiring IP professionals, cementing his role as a trusted authority in the field.
