HECTOR CHAGOYA is a Chemical Engineer and Attorney-at-law, with experience in patents since 1997. He was the first in Mexico to earn the Certified Licensing ProfessionalTM (CLP) credential and has been consistently recognized as a leading patent professional in several international surveys since 2005. Beyond his extensive expertise and leadership in filing and prosecuting more than 10,000 patents for companies in all fields of technology, he is well-known as a technology transfer professional who has occupied leadership positions such as Past President of the Licensing Executives Society Mexico (LES Mexico), past International Vicepresident of LES International, past member of the board of the Mexican Technology Transfer Offices Network (RedOTT) and current member of the Board of Governors of the CLP.

Hector has taught and spoken at numerous events, courses, seminars and congresses at universities, professional associations and organizations such as WIPO or the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI). He has experience in designing technology transfer policies for universities and research centers and has been invited by different governmental institutions in Mexico and other countries to discuss technology transfer policies. He is recognized by the National College of Chemical and Chemical Engineers (CONIQQ) as an expert in Engineering Economy, expertise that he uses for valuation of intangible assets and as a negotiator of technology transfer deals. Hector has published a variety of articles in specialized international journals and has co-authored chapters in books related to licensing, trade secrets, pharmaceutical law and practice, antibodies patenting and artificial intelligence patents.
