Lourdes Marie Tejero

Professor Dr. Lourdes Marie Tejero is currently the Director of the Technology Transfer and Business Development Office at the University of the Philippines Manila (UPM-TTBDO).   She is a Professor and past Dean at UPM, as well as the Head of the World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Leadership in Nursing Development.  Previously, she was Director of the National Graduate Office of the Health Sciences.

Prof. Dr. Tejero graduated from University of California (UC) Berkeley and UC San Francisco with Master of Translational Medicine (MTM).   She completed her BS Nursing and PhD from the University of the Philippines.  She did her post doctorate at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia. Dr. Tejero is a Certified Global Nurse Consultant conferred by the International Council of Nurses and CGNFS.

With the achievements of her technology transfer team, the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) awarded UPM-TTBDO the highest recognition, Platinum award, in the last four years.  Dr. Tejero was also conferred the UP Scientist I award (2023-2025) considering her scientific productivity, research and publications, acclaimed as Top Cited and Most Downloaded by Wiley publishing in 2021-2022.  Dr. Tejero was also recognized as Best Lecturer in the 2024 training programs of IPOPHL – IP Academy.  She was also given the International Nurse Award in 2017 and the Mentor Award in 2018.
