Richard is a litigator focused on patents and the technology sector. He is a solicitor advocate and UPC representative. Richard has extensive experience advising clients on FRAND and SEP matters and has been at the forefront of the legal developments in this area throughout his career, including on the intersection with competition law. He has successfully represented clients in some of the largest and most significant FRAND and patent disputes before the UK courts. Richard also advises on licensing disputes where patents are a focus, particularly in relation to patent licensing programs.

Richard handles both patent infringement and validity and has extensive experience in enforcement and defence. His background in engineering enables him to navigate technical patent litigation in diverse sectors with ease.

Richard is a member of AIPPI (Association for Protection of Intellectual Property), EPLAW (European Patent Lawyers Association) and LES (Licensing Executive Society).
