Rodrigo Ventura is the Chief Economist of the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI). He holds a degree in economics from the State University of Rio de Janeiro, a master’s of science degree in economics from the Brazilian Institute of Capital Markets, and a PhD in production engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Before joining INPI, among other positions, Mr. Ventura worked for almost 15 years as a Senior Economist of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in the fields of National Accounts and Consumer Price Indices. He has also accumulated experience in the private sector, where has managed various consultancy projects in scenario analysis and strategic planning. Mr. Ventura’s research work – focused on macroeconomics, economics of strategy, and economics of industrial property and innovation – has been published in academic journals and books.
